1. The competition

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition.

2. Competition period

The competition starts at 08:00 and ends at on 1 June 2024 (competition period).

3. Who can and cannot participate

3.1 A participant (you, your) must:

3.1.1 be 18 years or older;

3.1.2 have a valid South African ID document or card;

3.1.3 have an active bank account in your name; and

3.1.4 be a registered user on X (social-media platform).

3.2 Although meeting the criteria above, the following persons may not enter the competition: Our employees (including temporary and contract employees), their business partners and immediate family [eg spouse or partner, parents, siblings and children (including adopted children, but excluding those with half or step relations)], as well as our associated companies, agents, contractors, sponsors and marketing service providers.

4. How to enter

To stand a chance to win the prize, you must post your commentary about the Nedbank Cup Final match, which will take place on 1 June 2024, using our hashtag #NedbankCup on X: https://twitter.com/Nedbank.

5. The prize

A total of 5 participants each stand a chance to win R1 000.

6. Winner selection and prize award

6.1 The random computer-generated draw to select the winners will take place on 1 June 2024 via Microsoft Teams (it will be recorded) at the following times:

6.1.1 Round 1 - 11:00

6.1.2 Round 2 - 13:00

6.1.3 Round 3 - 15:00

6.1.4 Round 4 - 16:00

6.1.5 Round 5 - 17:00

6.2 If you win, the following applies:

6.2.1 We will send you a direct message via your social-media account and ask for your contact details (for example your email address and cellphone number). You will have 24 hours to respond, after which you will forfeit the prize and we will choose a new winner.

6.2.2 After having received your information, we will try to contact you up to 3 times. If we cannot get hold of you on the 3rd try, you will forfeit the prize and we will choose a new winner.

6.2.3 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your personal and bank account details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

6.2.4 The prize money will be paid into your bank account within 30 days of completion of the above.

6.2.5 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.

6.2.6 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further.

6.2.7 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.

6.2.8 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else.

6.2.9 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if the prize is affected in this way.

6.2.10 We reserve the right to substitute the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.

6.2.11 You cannot transfer the prize, and if you do not take up your prize, give it up or reject it for any reason, we will have a separate draw to select another winner.

6.2.12 You can only win 1 prize during the competition period.

7. General

7.1 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition material, is part of these terms and conditions.

7.2 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

7.3 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za/termsandconditions throughout the competition period.

7.4 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.

7.5 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.6 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors, or sponsors because of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

7.7 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
