1. The promoter

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition. We reserve the right to make it available to a select group of Nedbank clients only.

2. Promotion period

The competition starts on 15 January and ends on 10 May 2025 (competition period).

3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition

3.1 A participant (you, your) must:

3.1.1 be 18 years or older;

3.1.2 have a valid South African ID; and

3.1.3 open or have a Nedbank JustSave Account.

3.2 Our employees (including temporary and contract employees) including their spouses and children, associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the competition.

4. How to enter

4.1 To stand a chance to win a share of the prize, you must do the following during the stipulated dates in clause 4.1.2 to 4.1.6 below for each round during the competition period.

4.1.1 Register for the Nedbank Cup 2025 Competition via Nedbank Cup.

4.1.2 During the round of 32 fixtures (15–28 January 2025)

4.1.2.1 You must download and register on the Nedbank Money app.

4.1.2.2 You must deposit a minimum of R1 000 in your JustSave Account* and keep the value of your deposit above R1 000 even after any withdrawals you make out of your JustSave Account. The funds must show in your JustSave Account by 28 January 2025.

4.1.3 During the round of 16 fixtures (29 January to 16 February 2025)

4.1.3.1 You must deposit a minimum of R1 000 (cash deposit, stop order or electronic funds transfer (EFT)) in your JustSave Account* and keep the value of your deposit at or above R1 000 even after any withdrawals you make out of your JustSave Account. The funds must show in your JustSave Account by 16 February 2025.

4.1.4 Quarter-final (17 February to 9 March 2025)

4.1.4.1 You must deposit a minimum of R1 000 (cash deposit, stop order or electronic funds transfer (EFT)) in your JustSave Account* and keep the value of your deposit at or above R 1 000 even after any withdrawals you make out of your JustSave Account The funds must show in your JustSave Account by 9 March 2025.

4.1.5 Semi-final (10 March to 13 April 2025)

4.1.5.1 You must deposit a minimum of R1 000 (cash deposit, stop order or electronic funds transfer (EFT)) in your JustSave Account* and keep the value of your deposit at or above R1 000 even after any withdrawals you make out of your JustSave Account. The funds must show in your JustSave Account by 13 April 2025.

4.1.6 Final (14 April to 10 May 2025)

4.1.6.1 You must deposit a minimum of R1 000 (cash deposit, stop order or electronic funds transfer (EFT)) in your JustSave account* and keep the value of your deposit at or above R 1 000 even after any withdrawals you make out of your JustSave Account. The funds must show in your JustSave Account by 10 May 2025.

*The funds deposited in your JustSave Account must be R1 000 (or more) for the duration of the round. Calculated as follows: Total credit amount – total debit amount = R1 000 or more.

5. The prize(s):

Each goal attempt saved during the round of 32, round of 16 and the quarter-finals is valued at R10 000. Each goal attempt saved during the semi-finals and finals is valued at R20 000. Depending on the number of goal attempts saved* during each round, participants will stand a chance to win a share in the total value of the goals saved (Saves Pot). For example, if 10 goal attempts are saved during the round of 32, the total prize will be R100 000 for that round and 32 winners will win their share of the R100 000 in equal shares, which will be R3 125 each.

*Per Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA): A save is the actions of a goalkeeper in blocking or stopping a shot that would have gone into the goal without his intervention.

5.1 Round of 32:    32 participants stand a chance to win their share of the Saves Pot. Each save during this round of the tournament will be valued at R10 000. The total Saves Pot is limited to R820 000 for this round.

5.2 Round of 16: 16 participants stand a chance to win their share of the Saves Pot. Each save during this round of the tournament will be valued at R10 000. The total Saves Pot is limited to R340 000 for this round.

5.3 Quarter-final: 8 participants stand a chance to win their share of the Saves Pot. Each save during this round of the tournament will be valued at R10 000. The total Saves Pot is limited to R270 000 for this round.

5.4 Semi-final: 4 participants stand a chance to win their share of the Saves Pot. Each save during this round of the tournament will be valued at R20 000. The total Saves Pot is limited to R240 000 for the semi-final.

5.5 Final: 2 participants stand a chance to win their share of the Saves Pot. Each save during this round of the tournament will be valued at R20 000. The total Saves Pot is limited to R140 000 for the finals.

6. Selection of winners

6.1 A random computer-generated draw to select the winners will take place on the following dates via Microsoft Teams and will be recorded:

6.1.1 21 February 2025: 32 winners for the round of 32.

6.1.2 12 March 2025: 16 winners for the round of 16.

6.1.3 2 April 2025: 8 winners for the quarter-final.

6.1.4 19 May 2025: 4 winners for the semi-final.

6.1.5 4 June 2025: 2 winners for the final.

6.2 If you win, the following applies:

6.2.1 You will receive the prize only after we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

6.2.2 We will send you an SMS or a push notification via the Money app within 15 business days of each draw date advising you that you have won followed by a call on the number we have on record for you.

6.2.3 We will deposit your share of the prize directly into your JustSave Account within 30 business days after the draw date. Confirmation will be sent via SMS to the number we have on record for you and/or a push notification via the Nedbank Money app.

6.2.4 You can win only once during the competition period.

6.2.5 In the event of any of the matches going into a penalty shootout, only the first 8 penalties saved, per team, will be considered towards the Saves Pot.

6.2.6 The number of saves will be confirmed by us – our decision will be final.

6.2.7 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.

6.2.8 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further.

6.2.9 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.

6.2.10 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.

6.2.11 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else.

6.2.12 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if the prize is affected in this way.

7. General

7.1 All information about this competition, including information that is published on any promotional material, is part of these terms and conditions.

7.2 By participating in the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

7.3 These terms and conditions are available at nedbankcup.co.za throughout the competition period.

7.4 We may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting, and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.

7.5 By entering and participating in this competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for the competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for this competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.6 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors, or sponsors because of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

7.7 We or our directors, employees, agents, or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, costs, or death that you or any other person who participates in the offer sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
