1. The promoter

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our) runs this competition. We reserve the right to make it available to the public.

2. Competition period

2.1 The competition starts on 13 February and ends on 9 May 2025 (competition period), and has 5 rounds:

2.1.1 Round of 16 13–16 February

2.1.2 Quarter final 3–9 March

2.1.3 Semi-final 7–13 April April

2.1.4 Final 5–9 May  

3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition

3.1 A participant (you, your) must:

3.1.1 be 18 years or older;

3.1.2 have a valid South African ID; and

3.1.3 be a registered user on X (former Twitter).

3.2 Our employees (including temporary and contract employees), associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the competition.

4. How to enter

4.1 To stand a chance to win the prize, you must do the following during the competition period:

4.1.1 Reply, in the comments section, with the correct answer to the various Nedbank Cup-related trivia quizzes that will be posted on the Nedbank Sports X account at https://twitter.com/nedbanksport. These trivia quizzes will relate to Nedbank Cup 2025, as well as the history of the tournament.

5. The prize

5.1 There will be different prizes for each round of the competition:

5.1.1 Round of 16

3 x participants will each win a Sportsmans Warehouse voucher worth R1 000.

5.1.2 Quarter final

3 x participants will each win a Checkers voucher worth R1 500.

5.1.3 Semi-final

3 x participants will each win a Total Sports voucher worth R2 000.

5.1.4 Final

5 x participants will each win a voucher worth R5 000:

• Monday 1 x participlant will win a Nike voucher.
• Tuesday 1 x partciplant will win a Mr Price Sport voucher.
• Wednesday 1 x participlant will win a Pick n Pay voucher.
• Thursday 1 x participant will win an Avo voucher.
• Friday 1 x participant will an Avo voucher.

6. Selection of the winners

6.1 The random computer-generated draws to select the winners from each round will take place on the following dates via Microsoft Teams, and will be recorded:

6.1.1 Round of 16 24 Feburary 2025

6.1.2 Quarter final 17 March 2025

6.1.3 Semi-final 23 April 2025

6.1.4 Final 6, 7, 8, 9, and 12 May (5 draws)

6.2 If you win, the following applies:

6.2.1 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

6.2.2 We will send you a direct message via your X account within 5 business days of the draw date and ask for your contact details (for example your email address and cellphone number).

6.2.3 We will try to contact you up to 3 times. If we cannot get hold of you on the 3rd try, you will forfeit the prize and we will choose a new winner.

6.2.4 We will then email the voucher to you within 30 business days.

6.2.5 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.

6.2.6 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further.

6.2.7 All costs or expenses relating to these prizes that have not been mentioned here are excluded.

6.2.8 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.

6.2.9 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose.

6.2.10 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else, and we will not replace it with cash.

6.2.11 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way.

6.2.12 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.

6.2.13 You cannot transfer the prize, and if you do not take up your prize, give it up or reject it for any reason, we will do a separate draw to select another winner.

7. General

7.1 All the information about the competition and information that is published on any competition material, is part of these terms and conditions.

7.2 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

7.3 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za/termsandconditions [INSERT HYPERLINK TO CORRECT DOCUMENT] throughout the competition period.

7.4 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.

7.5 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.6 We may extend, shorten, or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors or sponsors as a result of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

7.7 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
