Milford FC to host Sekhukhune United in Nedbank Cup Last 16

PIC: Milford FC beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Last 32 in 2024

The Nedbank Cup Last 16 clash between Milford FC and Sekhukhune United has been scheduled for the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday, March 2, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed.

The winner of the tie will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will travel to Mamelodi Sundowns for the last-8 clash.
It will be a first ever meeting between Milford and Sekhukhune and comes after the PSL Executive Committee resolved that Royal AM would not be in a position to compete in the Nedbank Cup this year.
Milford, who were Royal AM’s Last 32 opponents, will be hoping to become the second Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side into the quarterfinals this season after fellow KwaZulu-Natal club Durban City.
Milford stunned Kaizer Chiefs to knock the AmaKhosi out in the Last 32 in 2024, defeating the Soweto giants on penalties before losing to Stellenbosch FC (0-6) in the Last 16.
Milford made their debut in the Nedbank Cup in 2016 when they lost 1-2 to Lamontville Golden Arrows in the Last 32.
Sekhukhune were finalists in 2023 but lost 1-2 to Orlando Pirates. They have not made it past the Last 16 in any of their other three campaigns in the Nedbank Cup.
And they have lost to lower league opponents before. They were beaten on penalties by Platinum City Rovers in the Last 32 in 2022.

Sekhukhune are riding high in the Betway Premiership table and are currently in third place, behind only Sundowns and Pirates. They will take on Sundowns in the league on Wednesday.
Milford have dropped to fifth in the MFC after back-to-back defeats in recent weeks.
