The Nedbank Cup Last 32 gets under way on Friday when Pretoria Callies host 2021 winners Marumo Gallants in the opening fixture of the 2025 campaign.
Twenty-seven of the 32 competing teams have played in the Nedbank Cup before, with only second-tier Kruger United, and ABC Motsepe League sides The Bees, Mighty Eagles, Lerumo Lions and Free Agents FC having not featured before.
Some have been ever-presents, others will be appearing for the second time, with Gallants unbeaten in their previous four Last 32 clashes. Callies will be hoping to change that.
Four-time winners Orlando Pirates, who are back-to-back defending champion, have only been beaten outright once in the Last 32 in their previous 17 seasons since the Nedbank Cup was first played in its current guise in 2008.
That was their shock 4-1 loss to third-tier Maluti FET College in 2013.
Mamelodi Sundowns have won 15 of their 17 Last 32 clashes and have never been involved in a draw that went to penalties. Their other two games were defeats to Pirates in 2011 and Chippa United in 2019.
