1. The promoter

Nedbank Limited, registration number 1951/000009/06 (we, us, our), runs this competition. We reserve the right to make it available to Nedbank clients who are also Nedbank Cup fans.

 

2. Competition period

The competition starts on 18 February and ends on 1 June 2024 (competition period).

 

3. Who can and cannot participate in the competition

3.1 A participant (you, your) must:

3.1.1 be 18 years or older;

3.1.2 have a South African ID;

3.1.3 have a Nedbank MiGoals Plus Account, Savvy Plus Account or Stokvel Account; and

3.1.4 ensure that your Nedbank account is in good standing, which means that it may not be in arrears or have been handed over for legal collection.

3.2 Our employees (including temporary and contract employees), associated companies, agents, contractors, and sponsors may not participate in the competition.

 

4. How to enter

4.1 Weekly prizes – MiGoals Plus Account and Savvy Plus Account

4.1.1 To stand a chance to win a weekly prize on the basis of having a MiGoals Plus or Savvy Plus Account, you must do the following in the corresponding week during the competition period:

4	10–15 March	Use your Nedbank debit card at least 3 times at any retailer or for online purchases (including scan to pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay).
5	17–23 March	Register for a ShapID on the Nedbank Money app.
6	24–30 March	Buy movie tickets at any Nu Metro theatre nationwide using your Nedbank debit card (including via scan to pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay).
7	31 March–6 April	Buy prepaid electricity or LOTTO tickets for at least R20 via the Money app, Online Banking or USSD.
8	7–13 April	Use your Nedbank debit card for purchases of at least R50 at any retailer or online purchases (including via scan to pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay).
9	14–20 April	Withdraw money from your account at an ATM, retailer or Nedbank teller at least twice.
10	21–27 April	Link at least 1 debit order to your bank account via the Nedbank Money app.
11	28 April–4 May	Buy at least R20 of airtime or data via Nedbank Money app, Online Banking or USSD.
12	5–11 May	Use your American Express® debit Card at any retailer or for online purchases (including via scan to pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay).
13	12–18 May	Pay for fuel at any bp station nationwide using your Nedbank debit card (including via scan to pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay).
14	19–25 May	Open and fund an Electronic 32Day Notice Account.

 

4.2 Grand prize: MiGoals Plus Account or Savvy Plus Account

4.2.1 To stand a chance to win the grand prize on the basis of having a MiGoals Plus Account or Savvy Plus Account, you must do the following during the competition period:

4.2.1.1 Register for the competition on nedbankcup.co.za.

4.2.1.2 Select the team that you will support throughout the tournament. If your team gets knocked out of the tournament, you can change your team on nedbankcup.co.za (all the points that you will have earned by that point will be carried forward).

4.2.1.3 Participate in the weekly activities set out in clause 1.1 above.

4.2.2 You will earn and accumulate points after you have successfully fulfilled the weekly activities. The points that you've earned will be used for your entry into the grand prize.

 

4.3 Grand prize: Stokvel Account

4.3.1 To stand a chance to win the grand prize for your stokvel, you must do the following during the competition period:

4.3.1.1 Open a Nedbank Stokvel account or have an existing Nedbank Stokvel Account

4.3.1.2 Register for the competition on nedbankcup.co.za.

4.3.1.3 Select the team that you will support throughout the tournament. If your team gets knocked out of the tournament, you can change your team on nedbankcup.co.za (all the amounts that you will have deposited will be taken into consideration for your entry into the grand prize).

4.3.1.4 Deposit at least R50 into your Stokvel Account.

 

5. The prizes

5.1 Weekly prizes

5.1.1 MiGoals Plus Account or Savvy Plus Account

5.1.1.1 Participants stand a chance to win in our weekly prize giveaways.

5.1.1.2 The prizes are the following:

• A signed soccer ball from your favourite team.
• A signed soccer jersey from your favourite player.
• Cash prizes are as follows: R2 000 and R10 000 (there will be separate draws for each amount).
• A Samsung Z Flip 4(256 GB) or an iPhone 15 (128 GB) up to the value of R30 000. (If you win, you can choose which phone you want.)
• A Samsung 55" QLED 4K 120 Hz smart TV (Q80C TV) up to the value of R30 000.
• A Boxer or Pick n Pay trolley dash up to the value of R10 000. You can choose at which store (ie either Boxer or Pick n Pay) you want to do the trolley dash.
• Data to the value of R5 000 (you can choose your mobile service provider).
• A Pick n Pay or Boxer grocery voucher to the value of R10 000 (you can choose from which store you want the voucher).
• A portable inverter up to the value of R15 000.
• An iPad Pro (M2, 128 GB) or a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 (128 GB) to the value of R20 000 (you can choose which tablet you want)
• A domestic return flight (economy class) for two people (excluding accommodation and transport).
• Weekend stay at partner hotels countrywide, valued at R30 000.
• All-expenses-paid Nedbank Cup Final experience.

 

5.2 Grand prizes

5.2.1 MiGoals Plus Account or Savvy Plus Account

5.2.2 The top 25 participants with the highest points will win their share of R5 million in cash for our grand prize.

5.2.2.1 A participant stands a chance to win R200 000 in cash.

5.2.2.2 If there is a tie in points among the participants, then their share of the R200 000 will be split equally among all participants that have the same points.

5.3 Stokvel Account

5.3.1 A total of 5 stokvel participants stand a chance to win double their deposits made into their Nedbank Stokvel Account. This is limited to the value of R100 000 for all deposits per Stokvel Account.

 

6. Selection of the winners

6.1 Weekly prizes

6.1.1 The random computer-generated draws to select the weekly winner(s) will take place on the dates below via Microsoft Teams and will be recorded.

6.1.3 Physical prizes

6.1.3.1 If you win a physical prize (eg signed ball, signed jersey phone, TV, inverter, tablet or trolley dash), the following applies:

6.1.3.1.1We will call you on the cellphone number that we have on record for you within 5 business days of the draw date.

6.1.3.1.2 We will try to contact you up to 5 times. If we cannot get hold of you on the 5th try, you will forfeit the prize and we will choose a new winner.

6.1.3.1.3 You must give us your address for delivery of your physical prize.

 

6.1.4 Voucher

6.1.4.1 If you win a voucher (data, grocery), the following applies:

6.1.4.1.1 We will email the voucher to you at the email address that we have on record for you within 5 business days of the draw date.

6.1.4.1.2 We will not replace the voucher if you delete the email, and it is irrecoverable or if someone else accesses your emails and uses the voucher.

6.1.4.1.3 You must use the voucher before it expires.

 

6.1.5 Domestic flight and weekend stay

6.1.5.1 If you win a domestic flight and weekend stay, the following applies:

6.1.5.1.1 We will call you on the cellphone number that we have on record for you within 5 business days of the draw date.

6.1.5.1.2 We will try to contact you up to 5 times. If we cannot get hold of you on the 5th try, you will forfeit the prize and we will choose a new winner.

6.1.5.1.3 Our travel agent will contact you for the arrangements.

 

6.1.6 Trolley dash

6.1.6.1 If you win the trolley dash, the following applies:

6.1.6.1.1 If the value of the items in your trolley is less than R10 000 (including VAT), you will forfeit the remaining balance of the prize.

6.1.6.1.2 If the value of the items in your trolley is more than R10 000 (including VAT), you must remove items from your trolley until you have reached R10 000 (including VAT) or you can pay in the difference yourself.

6.1.6.1.3 You will have 10 minutes to walk through the store to plan your route before the trolley dash starts.

6.1.6.1.4 Once the trolley dash has started, you will have 2 minutes to return to the starting point.

6.1.6.1.5 You may not cause damage to products or store fittings during the trolley dash, and you may not use your arm to rake store shelves.

6.1.6.2 Exclusions: Cash withdrawals, products from the cigarette counter, tickets from the Ithuba lottery machine, till point payments, and third-party payments.

6.1.6.3 Limits: A total of 6 products per food category and 1 small appliance per appliance type.

 

6.1.7 Cash

If you win cash in the weekly competition draws or the grand prize, we will do an electronic fund transfer (EFT) into your bank account within 5 days after the draw dates.

 

6.2 Grand prizes

6.2.1 The random computer-generated draw to select winners will take place on 1 June 2024 via Microsoft Teams and will be recorded.

6.2.2 The grand prize winners will be announced live at the stadium after the final game on 1 June 2024.

 

6.3 If you win, the following applies:

6.3.1 You will receive the prize only once we have verified and confirmed your details, including your compliance with these terms and conditions.

6.3.2 You can win only once in the weekly prize giveaways, in this competition.

 

7. General

7.1 We will not be responsible for any technical failures affecting your participation in the competition or if your entry has been left out from participation.

7.2 If a dispute arises, our decision will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition, and we will not discuss the matter further.

7.3 All costs or expenses relating to the prize that have not been mentioned here are excluded.

7.4 We will not be responsible for any delays in your taking up the prize.

7.5 We will not be responsible for any additional conditions that third parties impose.

7.6 We will give the prize directly to you and not to anyone else, and we will not replace it with cash, except the prizes that are in cash.

7.7 We will not be liable for delays or failure to deliver any part of the prize resulting from acts beyond our reasonable control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if your prize is affected in this way.

7.8 We reserve the right to replace the prize at any time with another of similar commercial value.

7.9 All the information about the competition, including information that is published on any competition material, is part of these terms and conditions.

7.10 By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

7.11 These terms and conditions are available on our website at nedbank.co.za and nedbankcup.co.za page throughout the competition period.

7.12 If you win, we may ask you to consent in writing to endorsing, promoting, and advertising any of our services, without payment. If you decline our request, you will still receive the prize.

7.13 By entering the competition, you acknowledge that your personal information needed for this competition will be shared with us and our agents, but only to the extent necessary for the competition. Your personal information will be used in line with South African consumer and data protection laws.

7.14 We may extend, shorten or cancel the competition immediately and without notifying you if it is permitted by law, if we must do so by law, or for reasons beyond our control. If this happens, you will give up any rights that you may have in terms of this competition and you will have no recourse against us or our agents, contractors or sponsors because of the extension, shortening or cancellation.

7.15 We or our directors, employees, agents or suppliers will not be responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the competition, or for any accident, injury, harm, damages, costs or death that you or any other person who participates in the prize sustains at any point during the fulfilment of the prize.
