Baroka taking no chances against minnows

New Baroka FC coach MacDonald Makhubedu is taking nothing for granted as he prepares his side to meet Western Cape ABC Motsepe League side Steenberg United in the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup in Polokwane on Saturday.
Makhubedu, who was in charge of Acornbush United when they stunned Cape Town City in the Nedbank Cup last season, recently took over from Kgoloko Thobejane, and will be eager to go one better than Baroka's previous two semifinal appearances.
But he knows that Steenberg will be up for the fight and is expecting a difficult tie.
"I said this week that the game will be tough and interesting," Makhubedu told reporters. "Mostly when we play the small teams it is always tough because they want to express themselves.
"They have nothing to lose and they have a great technical team, their coach [Mike Lukhubene] and players such as Lennox Bacela are experienced.
"He played in the PSL and we cannot undermine them Š all I can say is that we expect a tough game, but we are ready."
Baroka reached the Nedbank Cup semifinals as a third-tier side in 2011 and when in the second-tier in 2016. They lost to Black Leopards and SuperSport United respectively.
